- Cost-Benefit of Plug-in Hybrids (TheTruthAboutCars.com)
"Aggregate gas savings are much more readily and cost-effectively accomplished through large numbers of conventional hybrids (Prius) than small numbers of somewhat more efficient but much more costly plug-ins. Toyota’s 2009 production of about 500k Priora (@ 50mpg) will save 120 million gallons of gasoline compared to a like number of 25mpg conventional mid-sized sedans, at little or no incremental cost." 04-08
- Mitsubishi Plug-in Hybrid (Edmunds)
"Could this be the sound of future driving? If Mitsubishi has its way, then this Mitsubishi i MIEV — a test bed for an electric vehicle scheduled to be introduced for 2010 — makes a pretty strong case for it. This particular car is one of a 30-vehicle test fleet that's running around Tokyo right now." Awesome Library does not endorse these products but provides them as examples. 03-08
- Plug-in Add-on for Hybrid Conversions (Hymotion)
"Hymotion's Battery Range Extender Modules (BREMs) convert Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) into Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHEV) with 100+mpg fuel efficiency and the power to fight climate change. The advantages of Hymotion’s BREM PHEV conversions include better fuel economy, fewer visits to gas station, lower fuel costs, less pollution and a significantly longer all-electric drive range --- the solution for spiking gas prices, CO2 emissions and dependence on imported oil." - Plug-in Hybrid Conversion (CNN News)
"The owner of Luscious Garage is wondering whether the electric wall outlet will be the 'gas tank' of the future." Awesome Library does not endorse these services but provides them as examples. 03-08
